Example of Seat Ibiza Bumper Repair:

Seat 1.4 16v has hit a post on the right hand side of the front bumper – there’s scratches and a small dent. The dent has depressed the bumper about 1-2mm.

Step 1: I have cleaned the area and applied a no shrink polyester based filler.

Step 2: The filler is then sanded smooth and flat after it has dried.

Step 3: Primer is then applied over the repaired area. It is wet sanded to ensure its smooth and there are no visible edges.

Step 4: The entire panel is then cleaned, dried and masked-up ready for painting. Only the repaired area is painted.

Step 5: Two coats of Glasurit clearcoat (lacquer) is applied and the repair is complete. After baking off the clearcoat the bumper is now touch dry and the masking is removed.

Step 6: Finished – The entire repair has taken just under two hours. The clearcoat will continue to cure over the next two days. However, the car is dry enough to be driven after 1 hour.

VW Toureg Bumper Repair

Step 1: VW Toureg has scraped the right hand side of the bumper its lost quite alot of the swage line defining the edge of the wheel arch.

Step 2: The area to be repaired has been sanded and filled. When dry, the filler is then sanded again to bring back the original shape of the wheel arch.

Step 3: Primer has now been applyed and is dryed using a heat lamp. The Primer is then sanded to ensure there are no edges showing.

Step 4: The repaired area has now been cleaned, masked off, painted and clearcoated.

Step 5: The masking is now removed and the job is finished the car will be ready to drive after only one hour. The whole repair has taken 2 1/2 hours.

Bmw 1 series This bmw has scraped and bumped the left hand corner. There`s actually a hole where the steel bar under the bumper has pierced through.

Step 1 I have sanded down all the damaged areas revailing the hole which will be filled with a fiberglass based filler.

Step 2 I have bonded a stainless steel mesh to the back of the bumper. Fiberglass filler is then applied to fill the hole. The usual filler is then used to fill the rest of the damage.

Step 3 Three coats of primer have been applied the panel is then cleaned and masked-up ready for paint.

Step 4 The bumper has now been painted and lacquered. Only the repaired area is painted. Lacquer is applied all the way round the bumper and blended in at the start of the number plate.

Step 5 The repair is now complete.

Step 1
This Mercedes has been damaged on the wing and corner of the frount bumper I have removed the rubbing strip to get access to repair the split.

I have highlighted the two splits with arrows the bumper is made from a plastic that cannot be “welded” so I used fiberglass.

The wing and bumper has now been filled and primer has been applyed.

Heres the rubbing strip again with fiberglass on the back side. Glue is also applyed the the top side. Its then filled in the usuall way.

The car has now been painted and clearcoated the rubbing strip was put back on the car prior to paint.
